cmurph equipment donation thread.

BIG NEWS!!!! ->>> http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=690614&postcount=78

This thread has been started to try and help cmurph.
read the details here: http://www.digitalgrin.com/showthread.php?t=77016

How it works:

If someone wishes to donate an item to chris for sale

Post your donated item here along with a suggested donation amount.
The first person willing to pay the suggested donation will then be awarded the chance to send the payment for the item to cmurph ( cmurphy@intergui.com ) - IMPORTANT: make sure you put in the comments (of PayPal) what you are sending the payment for when sending the funds. IF you do not have a PayPal account you can still send money using this donate button - http://www.sherstone.com/cmurph-donation.html

Then please PM me your email and name + shipping address, that you used to make the payment and I will ask Chris to verify. Once verified the original donator will be contacted via PM and they will donate the shipping of the item by mail to the person who made the payment.

This scenario relies on honesty of the donator to mail the item and the trust of the purchaser to wait for the item to arrive in the mail.

If it is a large or heavy item then a shipping amount can be suggested and that amount sent separately to the original donator. This might be the case for something like lights and stands etc...

Please be civil and if you see a person that is willing to buy the item make a post then let them have the chance to send the money. Do not out-bid them by posting another response.

It will take a little while for the verification that the funds were sent so please be patient.

I will check this thread as often as possible.

thanks
Sean

UPDATE -Donation of $100 given by Entropysedge and books will be mailed on Monday

Super!

This is not a big problem,
I have done a bit of research and you do not need to have an account with PayPal
to actually send a payment.

I will setup a donation button in the next hour and post the link to the button so anyone without an account can participate.

sound good?

thank you!

donation button

Here is the link to the PayPal donation button.

http://www.sherstone.com/cmurph-donation.html

the necessary information is hard coded into the button
to let you send whatever amount you choose to cmurph (Chris Murphy family)

Click the button, if you are not a PayPal member on the left of the screen is a Continue link and you will be asked for your personal info and confirm the donation.

Once you do this - PM me your name, email, address, and what you are wanting here on this thread, I'll then confirm that the payment was made
and post here to let you know. I then PM the donator to have the item shipped to you.

These were great for me when I started out with my Canon G5 and beginning with Photography. They are all in new or great condition! They are also on half.com and amazon.com to be sold, however, this is a more worthy cause so if a Dgrinner wants them they get priority.

Complete Guilde to Filters for Digital Photography by Joseph Meehan- $15
The Photographer's guide to Photoshop by BArrie Thomas- $11
Photography at Night: getting the most from low-light conditions by Richar Newman - $10.00
New York by Mark Crosby- $10.00

Donation - Tenba Photo Vest

Okay, my family and I have had our share of blessings and miracles this year - time to pay back a small amount.

For Sale:

Tenba Photo Vest
  • Super, super clean. Used only once (to shoot a parade). Like new - no signs of wear.
  • Size medium - BUT this is a roomy vest. I'm 5'9", about 185 lbs, shirt size lg (16-33), and this fits me nicely. I probably wouldn't try to wear it over a real bulky sweatshirt or jacket or I'd need the bigger size.
  • Value new $90. Same as this vest: http://www.adorama.com/TBVSB.html . Tenba has a newer, cheaper vest called a Metro Vest. The one I'm selling is the better (earlier) model - much more rugged and solid than the current version with more pockets. The color is MEDIUM GRAY.
  • Embroidered with the words: FUJIFILM PROFESSIONAL on the front, and screen printed on the back with the words: FUJICOLOR PRESS. This was created to be an official press photographer's vest for photographers sponsored by Fuji.
  • great Christmas gift??!!
  • Suggested price $65, SHIPPING INCLUDED (to US 48 states, possibly Canada if the shipping price is close). If you want to donate more to go to cmurph, even better!
  • I will also MATCH your purchase price with a equal donation to cmurph
  • Who am I? I've bought from the flea market before, been around dgrin for a few years, ebay id is jcwmson with 100% positive feedback

I sent a pm about the photo vest. I still want it and can send the money to either the seller or still as a donation. I imagine if they were that far behind on the house payment, there are a few other bills that need might need a little.

If wholenewlight is still wanting to donate it - then I suggest the money still go to the Murphy family

You are correct I'm sure there is many more bills that need to be paid.

I just sent a note to bham.

Donation still goes to cmurph. We'll add a little to the pot for the non-mortgage financial needs.
